She is a total super star. She runs cross country and has a full ride to college. Not only is she a total doll, but I knew I liked her when I saw the shoe collection she brought to our shoot. We had such a blast and she was up for anything.

So, I’m pretty excited to share some really fun news with anyone who reads this blog…Parenting Magazine contacted me several months ago and had seen one of my images on the web and wondered if they might consider using in for their cover of an upcoming issue. So, with much prayer, I decided this would be an amazing opportunity and I agreed. I hope you all will pick up a copy.

So, if you haven’t noticed…I haven’t posted anything in quite some time. I have had glitch after glitch with my blog. Hopefully now its working properly, but I’m in the process of updating both the website and blog…change is a comin’ so check back….
Now onto this post. This was such a fun session. My photog friend Benita, put toghether this little OK Shootout and invited other local photographers to participate. It was basically a session where she came up with an idea and provided the models and inspiration and we all just gathered together and shot around sharing with each other and helping each other out. When I showed my mom these pictures for the first time she was like, “Huh?” She didn’t get it. Sometimes we (photographers) need a session where we shoot just for us…to get our creative juices flowing. After a long season of shooting the same thing over and over, it can really get you down and you can get burned out really fast. If you are in the photography business you know it can be quite lonely at times because it seems that we are always competeing for business, but this was such a fun evening where were all on the same side…the same team, if you will. And it was so refreshing to see that even though, we all shot the same models and in the same area, no two images were alike. That’s the beauty of it. You can have 10 photographers in the same room with the exact same camera, but your own eye makes you unique…its how you see things that makes you different. I can honestly say I walked away with 10 new friends and that if I ever had a question or needed help with something, I know I could count on them. Hope you enjoy the magical feel of these.

She was such a trooper. I needed a model for a mentoring session (because lets face it my kids are burned out) and she was willing to shoot in 23 degree weather with a ridiculous windchill. It was too cold, but you’d never know it. She has a smile like the sunshine…Sydney has a birthday coming up. Happy Birthday Beauty!
