I think I remember reading somewhere that New York City is 8 square miles and has 8 million people living in the city…how can so much culture, history and people live in such a small space. I mean I’ve run farther than that at one time… Its pretty amazing if you think about it. There is so much to see and do and you can’t do it all in 5 days…its just impossible. The food…well, there’s a cafe on every street corner that’s been there since 1912 and new little bistros going in everwhere. Its a happenin’ place, and I love the pace…its been much like my summer. We have had such a busy summer. Its been super fun, but really fast paced. We’ve been swimming, and biking, and enjoying each other and the hot sun, but we have also done a bit of traveling: Dallas, NYC, Ft. Worth, back to Dallas, Montana, Wyoming, OKC, Austin (more posts on those later)… It alot of fun, now that are kids are at an old enough age where traveling is pretty easy. We took a few days in June and flew to NYC, yes, all 5 of us. We explored the city, the ”concrete jungle where dreams are made of.” We did all the touristy things, although, I’m dying to go back on a girls trip, so I can stop at all the fun shops I passed by. Its the ultimate people watching place…We stayed in Times Square, which was always bumpin’, went to the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, rode the subway’s enough to feel like a local, went to FAO Swartz (Mistake #1- don’t take your kids there on the first day…they want EVERYTHING), Rode the Staton Island Ferry, ate at Max Brenner, saw the naked cowboy, walked across the Brooklyn Bridege, ate at the Boat house in Central Park, saw Mary Poppins on Broadway, went to the Met, and some other stuff (must keep a travel journal, can’t remember it all), and just had a great time. It seems like I bring my big camera with me on trips but I hardly ever use it, so most of these are taken with my iphone and edited using instagram on my phone.
